History

Before officially joining the ranks as the 42nd state in 1889, Washington state harbored a rich Native American history. Anthropologists suggest that there were originally 125 tribes and more than 50 dialects spoken before the European colonization of the territory. Today, Washington is home to more than 7 million inhabitants and is home to some of America’s most recognizable brands such as Starbucks, Microsoft, and Amazon.

The Evergreen State

Washington is home to a variety of different landscapes, major cities and historical events. It is the only state named after a U.S. President and features one of the largest temperate rain forest in the US, the Hoh Rainforest. Washington State’s flower is the Pacific Rhododendron and features the Rainbow Trout as its state fish. Because of its rich history involving Native American tribes, it remains a gem among America’s 50 states.

Featuring the iconic symbols of the Evergreen State, our Washington ornament is the perfect addition to any home and is a great way to commemorate a visit to the Pacific Northwest.
