However, upon reaching their destination, a great earthquake shook the land and an angel appeared, telling the women that Jesus had risen. In fear and excitement the women went to inform the disciples when Jesus appeared to them. Today, millions celebrate the miraculous resurrection of Jesus every year during Easter and remain grateful for his ultimate sacrifice.
