A National Treasure
The Great Smoky Mountains rise along the Tennessee/North Carolina border stretching from Pigeon River to the Little Tennessee River. This mountain range gets its name from the natural fog that commonly appears in the morning hours and after rainfall. It hangs over the range and from a distance, looks like large plumes of smoke rising up. Most of this mountain range is protected and within the borders of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is the most visited national park in the United States.
Wild Life & Plants
The mountains are home to over 1,600 species of flowering plants, over 100 species of native shrubs, and over 100 species of native trees, as well as many non-vascular plants and species of fungi. The Black Bear is at home in the Smokies, as well as many other types of wild life.
This ornament is a perfect keepsake to remember your visit to this spectacular national treasure year after year, or for any national park enthusiast.
