US Involvement

After the horrific acts of terror that were carried out on September 11th, 2001, America pulled itself up by the bootsraps and thousands of men and women were shipped off to defend their homeland. Afghanistan proved to be a hard fought war, with many sacrifices made in order to protect America and attempt to implement and preserve democracy in this war torn, middle eastern country. Since 2001, there have been over 2,000 military deaths, and some say that it could be the longest war in American history. Nevertheless,  America remains a symbol of freedom as it tries to bring democracy to a foreign land.
