David’s Victory

Hearing that Saul promised a reward to any man who could defeat Goliath, David accepted the challenge. Goliath, prepared with his armor and javelin, confronted David, who had only his staff and sling. Hurling a stone from his sling with all his might, David hit Goliath in the center of his forehead, knocking Goliath to the ground. David then cut off Goliath’s head and took it back to the king in Jerusalem.

“And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang [it], and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.”
